Problem Note 61434: CHARACTER variables are doubled in length when you import an Excel file using the SAS® PC Files Server on a non-wlatin1 SAS® session
When you use the EXCELCS driver to import an Excel file, variables of type CHARACTER double in length.
This issue occurs when you run SAS® 9.4M4 with any non-wlatin1 single-byte encoding such as wcyrillic, wlatin2, or whebrew.
