Problem Note 61202: Selecting bulk size pack values greater than one within inner packs might yield undesired results in SAS® Pack Optimization
In SAS® Pack Optimization, selecting bulk pack size values greater than one within inner packs might yield undesired results. For example, consider a desired bulk pack size value of 6 same size items. The bulk packs of 6 are to be in inner packs, and the stores are expecting inner pack groups of 1 or 2 six packs of the item. Optimization applies the 6 units set in the bulk size pack and applies it to the outer pack, and each inner pack has only 1 item.
A new global setting called GENERATED_BULK_PACK_INNER_COUNT has been added to change the default behavior. This global setting specifies whether the size of the bulk pack that is entered in the UI is the number of units in one pack. The default value of 1 specifies the size of the bulk pack is the number of units in one inner ship pack. A value of 0 specifies the size of the bulk pack is the number of inner ship packs each having one unit.
Contact SAS Technical Support for the script to surface the GENERATED_BULK_PACK_INNER_COUNT global setting in the SAS® Merchandise Solutions Configuration Workbench.
