Problem Note 61513: Using the HTTP procedure generates either the errors "ERROR: BRIDGE FAILURE - SUBSYSTEM IS NOT INSTALLED" or "PROC HTTP not found"
PROC HTTP code might generate either of the following errors:
Error 1:
ERROR: BRIDGE FAILURE - SUBSYSTEM IS NOT INSTALLED
Error 2:
PROC HTTP not found
With 32-bit SAS® 9.4 TS1M5, the SASHTTP dynamic-link library (DLL) is installed in the C:\Program
Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\prochttp\sasexe folder. However, there is no corresponding entry for the prochttp\sasexe folder in the sasv9.cfg file. As a result, SAS cannot find the DLL, which results in the errors.
To correct the problem:
- Locate the configuration file that you are using by running the following OPTIONS procedure in a SAS Editor window:
proc options option=config;
run;
Then, save a copy of the SASV9.cfg configuration file to a separate folder.
- Terminate all SAS sessions.
- Using Microsoft Windows Notepad or another text editor, open the original SASV9.cfg file that you located in step 1.
- Find the -Path option in the SASV9.cfg file and modify the option by adding the path to the SASHTTP.dll file, as shown in the following example. (Be sure to keep all of the currently existing entries in the -Path option.)
-Path
"c:\progra~1\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\prochttp\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\core\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\access\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\baseui\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\eis\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\fsp\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\graph\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\hadoopbasics\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\stat\sasexe"
"!SASROOT\statcomp\sasexe"
- Invoke SAS so that the previous steps take effect, and rerun your PROC HTTP code to verify that it is now working correctly.
