Problem Note 60593: SAS® Web Report Studio might unexpectedly fail to use the Arial font when printing
When printing, SAS Web Report Studio sometimes replaces Arial with a different font. For example, in headers and footers, Helvetica might be used instead of Arial. In tables and object titles, Times New Roman might be used instead of Arial.
When this problem occurs, this message appears in the SAS Web Report Studio log:
pdf.itext.font.FontMapper - Font "Arial" is not installed.
This problem can occur even though the font is correct when you view the report in browser, and you have performed the steps in SAS Note 49401 to make the fonts available for printing.
Typically, this problem occurs if your middle-tier is running on an AIX operating system, but it might occur for other UNIX systems.
Here are a couple of possible workarounds:
- Helvetica is very similar to Arial, so you can edit the report to use Helvetica instead of Arial.
- Temporarily change the currently selected report style, and then change it back to the preferred style. To access the styles, select View ► Report Style.
If you change the style, the problem might reoccur. If the problem is too disruptive, then SAS recommends you use Helvetica instead.
