Usage Note 60585: Using RACF password phrases fails on remote z/OS hosts with SAS/CONNECT®
When providing a Remote Access Control Facility (RACF) password phrase for a SAS/CONNECT SIGNON to a remote z/OS host, you might receive one of the following errors:
ERROR: Communication request rejected by partner: security verification failure.
ERROR: Invalid password
ERROR: Did not get TSO startup messages after logon.
These errors occur if the z/OS or SAS® environment does not support RACF password phrases.
RACF password-phrase support is available with the SAS/CONNECT 9.4 spawner. For more information, see the "What's New in SAS/CONNECT 9.4: Enhanced Passphrases on z/OS" section in SAS/CONNECT 9.4 User's Guide, Fourth Edition.
RACF password phrases are not supported with Telnet line mode connections, but they are supported with TN3270 (full-screen 3270 Telnet protocol) connections.
