Installation Note 60157: The ITRM Report Definition task is not available in SAS® Enterprise Guide® after you perform an upgrade of SAS® IT Resource Management in place
The ITRM Report Definition task latest version DLL file is not updated with the current ITRMGallery.dll in SAS® Enterprise Guide® after an upgrade to SAS IT Resource Management is performed in place. The ITRM Report Definition task in SAS Enterprise Guide is used to create a report definition that includes the metadata and SAS code from a given branch of a SAS Enterprise Guide project. The resulting report definitions are saved on SAS® Metadata Server. These definitions are used by SAS IT Resource Management Performance Report transformations that are in SAS IT Resource Management report jobs. When these jobs run, they produce the SAS IT Resource Management reports and report metadata for the ITRM Report Center web application.
The ITRMGallery.dll file (latest or updated) that is associated with the ITRM Report Definition task in SAS Enterprise Guide is delivered in the following installation directory:
SASHOME\SASITResourceManagementReportDefinitionTaskforEnterpriseGuide\3.9\EGComponents
As part of the normal configuration scripts for SAS IT Resource Management, this file should be copied to this directory:
SASHOME\SASEnterpriseGuide\7.1\Custom
When an upgrade for SAS IT Resource Management in place is performed, this new ITRMGallery.dll file copy is not created. Because the latest ITRMGallery.dll file cannot be found at this location, you see a red X over the ITRM Report Definition task inside the SAS Enterprise Guide project. Also, when you select Tools ► Add-In in SAS Enterprise Guide, the ITRM Report Definition task is missing from the Add-In list as a result of incompatibility with the older DLL file version.
In addition, the latest EGOptions.xml file is delivered in the following directory:
SASHOME\SASITResourceManagementReportDefinitionTaskforEnterpriseGuide\3.9\EGOptions
As part of the normal configuration scripts for SAS IT Resource Management, the EGOptions.xml file should be copied to this directory:
SASHOME\SASEnterpriseGuide\7.1
To circumvent this problem, complete the following steps:
- Manually copy the latest ITRMGallery.dll file from SASHOME\SASITResourceManagementReportDefinitionTaskforEnterpriseGuide\3.9\EGComponents
to the SASHOME\SASEnterpriseGuide\7.1\Custom.
- Manually copy the latest EGOptions.xml file from SASHOME\SASITResourceManagementReportDefinitionTaskforEnterpriseGuide\3.9\EGOptions
to SASHOME\SASEnterpriseGuide\7.1.
The execution of SAS IT Resource Management report jobs that are generated by the Adapter Setup Wizard is not affected by the issue described in this note.
