Problem Note 60144: SAS® Visual Analytics Designer might not correctly map duplicated data items

When you create a link interaction between two reports that use different data sources, you are prompted to map the data items in the source report to corresponding data items in the target report. If any of the mapped data items are duplicated, the duplicated data item in the target report is replaced by the original copy of the data item that was duplicated. The following example illustrates the issue.
Suppose that you have two different data sources: Class and Class2.
- The Class data source is used in Report1.
- The Class2 data source is used in Report2.
- Report1 contains a duplicated data item named NameF.
- Report2 contains a duplicated data item named NameM.
When you create a link between Report1 and Report2, you map NameF to NameM. This step is shown in the following display
However, when you save the mapping, the data item in the target report is removed and replaced with the original copy of the data item that was duplicated. In the Edit Report Link dialog box shown in the following display, the NameM data item has been replaced by the Name data item.
There are two workarounds for this issue:
- Use the original data item for the mapping rather than the duplicated one, if possible.
- Create duplicated columns before uploading the data source to the SAS® LASR™ Analytic Server.
