SAS® Customer Intelligence campaigns might fail to publish or export data when the underlying database is Netezza. When this problem occurs, the following error is generated.
This error occurs when the SAS® compute tier and the SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza engine are deployed on a Microsoft Windows server and the data contains non-Western Latin (WLATIN1) characters (for example, UTF-8 or other double-byte character sets [DBCS]).
When the underlying SAS sessions have a UTF-8 encoding, non-ASCII character data might not be transcoded correctly and is exported in binary format when it is bulk loaded to the Netezza database. This behavior is not limited to Microsoft Windows servers; it might occur on all platforms.
For more information, see SAS Note 59905, "ERROR: Unable to transcode data. . ." occurs when you access a non-Western Latin (WLATIN1) Netezza database."
