Problem Note 59529: Remote Library Services library allocation fails with "ERROR: Invalid libref..."

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS® 9.3 TS1M2 and later releases, a Remote Library Services (RLS) library allocation fails under the following conditions:

  • The remote library on the SAS server is part of a library concatenation.
  • One of the libraries in the concatenation is using the META engine.

When you encounter this problem, you see the following error:

ERROR: Invalid libref LOCAL.
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.

Here is an example of code that produces this problem:

SIGNON RHOST;
RSUBMIT;
LIBNAME REMMETA META LIBRARY=TEST;
LIBNAME RCONCAT(REMMETA);
ENDRSUBMIT;
LIBNAME LOCAL SLIBREF=RCONCAT SERVER=RHOST;

A temporary workaround is to assign the SLIBREF= parameter directly to the libref using the META engine.
