Usage Note 59513: Using SAS® Financial Management's visibility rules to limit the scope of driver formulas
In SAS Financial Management 5.4 and later releases, you can use visibility rules to limit the scope of driver formulas. Driver formulas calculate for every fact that can be navigated to on the form. For example, setting a slicer to a dimension member does not limit the calculation of the driver formula to that selection. Instead, you can use visibility rules.
You can create a visibility rule that uses more than two dimension members to limit the scope of driver formulas when the following conditions are true:
- None of the dimension members is Currency.
- The first dimension member is the target hierarchy of the form set.
Here is an example of a visibility rule designed to limit the scope of driver formulas:
Hide: Organization=”All”
Unhide: Organization="Phoenix", Product = "Unassigned", Account = "Sales"
Unhide: Organization="Phoenix", Product = "Publications", Account = "Sales"
In the above example, Organization="Phoenix" is representative of a unique Organization dimension member and Organization is the target hierarchy.
