Problem Note 59428: Pass ticket support fails for connections to z/OS
In SAS® 9.3 and later releases, if the server is enabled for pass ticket and the client uses a user ID and password, then you might see the following error message:
ERROR: Attempt to connect to server xxxxxx.xxxxxx failed. ERROR: A communication subsystem partner link setup request failure has occurred. ERROR: Communication request rejected by partner: security verification failure. ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
When using SAS system option SECPROFILE upon logon from Windows to z/OS, you see the following message:
ERROR 13-12: Unrecognized SAS option name, SECPROFILE
Note: If the server and client are both on z/OS and SAS System Option SECPROFILE is coded on both z/OS machines, passwords are not used. Instead, pass tickets are automatically used.
A circumvention is to force the password from the client to be entered in uppercase letters.
