Beginning with SAS/STAT® 14.2 in SAS® 9.4 TS1M4, the Power and Sample Size (PSS) application is replaced by a set of tasks in SAS® Studio 3.6. The POWER and GLMPOWER procedures in SAS/STAT continue to be available to perform power and sample size computations for various analyses.
SAS Studio is a SAS application that you access through your web browser. With SAS Studio, you can access your data files, libraries, and existing programs, and you can write new programs. You can also use predefined tasks in SAS Studio to generate SAS code. When you run a program or task, SAS Studio connects to a SAS server to process the SAS code. The SAS server can be a hosted server in a cloud environment, a server in your local environment, or a copy of SAS on your local machine. After the code is processed, the results are returned to SAS Studio in your browser.
The interface and capabilities of the Power and Sample Size tasks in SAS Studio have been enhanced compared to the PSS application in earlier SAS releases. For example, power and sample size can be computed for the Cox regression model in SAS Studio. In SAS Studio 3.6, the Power and Sample Size tasks do not include equivalence tests but these and other capabilities are planned for future releases. Also, power and sample size computations for general linear models requires use of PROC GLMPOWER.
Beginning in SAS Studio 3.6, you can use the Power and Sample Size tasks by following these steps after starting SAS Studio in your browser:
In the navigation panel on the left, click the Tasks and Utilities section.
Open the Tasks folder and then the Power and Sample Size folder.
Double-click the desired Power and Sample Size task to open it on the right as shown below.

For complete information about using SAS Studio and the Power and Sample Size tasks, see the SAS Studio documentation.
