Problem Note 59617: Assigning a SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server 5.3 LIBNAME statement to a SAS® SPD 5.1 or earlier server causes a segmentation violation
Using a SAS SPD Server 5.3 client to submit a LIBNAME statement to a 5.1 or earlier server results in a segmentation violation error. The issue occurs because the earlier and later releases of the SAS SPD Server use a different connection method.
Note that this behavior also occurs with the SAS SPD Server 5.2 client.
