Usage Note 59191: Using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Vertica returns "ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection... Unsupported frontend protocol 3.6..."
When using SAS/ACCESS Interface to Vertica, you might receive the following error:
ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: FATAL 5273: Unsupported
frontend protocol 3.6: server supports 3.0 to 3.5
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement
The problem occurs when the version of the Vertica client does not match the version of the Vertica server. Generally, these versions should match.

Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
