In the SAS^® High-Performance Statistics HPSPLIT procedure, the CODE FILE=filename statement converts the final tree into SAS DATA step code that can be used for scoring. However, the generated code might not be correct. If you score new data using the score code, then the scored values might also be incorrect. Incorrect code is generated when the following conditions are true:

• Your HPSPLIT procedure code includes a CLASS statement.
• You do not specify the UPCASE option in the CLASS statement.
• Your CLASS variable values are not all uppercase (some values are lower or mixed-case).

There are no errors or warnings to indicate a problem.

To avoid the problem, specify the UPCASE option after a slash ('/') in the CLASS statement.
