Problem Note 58826: SAS® Visual Scenario Designer and SAS® Event Stream Processing use different field lengths
In SAS Visual Scenario Designer, you can specify the length of a character field. If you enter a value that exceeds this length, then the value is truncated to the length that you specified. However, in SAS Event Stream Processing, the length value is ignored, and the non-truncated value is displayed.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix, the correct length is used in SAS Event Stream Processing.
Example
- In SAS Visual Scenario Designer, create a new character field with a length of 3.
- In the formula, specify "LONG TEXT" as the text value.
In SAS Visual Scenario Designer, this text is truncated to LON. However, SAS Event Stream Processing incorrectly displays the non-truncated value. After you apply the hot fix, LON is displayed in SAS Event Stream Processing.
