Problem Note 58335: You cannot log on to SAS® Marketing Optimization and errors occur
You might not be able to log on to SAS Marketing Optimization. If all users cannot log on, check the SAS/SHARE® server log for the following error messages. If these messages appear in the log, it means that your SAS/SHARE server has become unresponsive.
ERROR: Unexpected ERROR from YYTRCRT detected by CREATE, INIT MIRROR REB in "Kernel"(0): ERROR: Library WORK does not exist.
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference MACNAME not resolved.
ERROR:(&macname) 9:25:54 Cannot connect to SAS/Share Server.
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference MACNAME not resolved.
ERROR:(&macname) 9:25:54 Cannot access /td/imss/data/SASMarketingOptimization5.4/datastore.
Restarting the SAS/SHARE server normally fixes the issue. However, it has been noted that this problem can occur frequently. When the SAS/SHARE server is first started, it creates temporary files in the SAS Work library. At some point, the SAS Work location might be cleaned out either manualy or as part of a routine process. When the temporary files that the SAS/SHARE server needs are deleted, the server enters into an unoperable state that keeps users from logging on to SAS Marketing Optimization.
To work around this problem:
- Stop the share service on the SAS/SHARE server machine. Then restart it.
- Modify the script that starts the SAS/SHARE server and add the system option –WORK pathname (choose a location where files are not removed). For details, see WORK System Option: UNIX in the SAS® 9.3 Companion for UNIX Environments
These steps should offer stability to the SAS/SHARE server.
