Problem Note 58261: PROC STP cannot access SAS® stored process input parameters if the stored process was created using SAS® Enterprise Guide®

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If a SAS stored process was created using SAS Enterprise Guide, then the STP procedure cannot access any input parameter (prompt) values that are associated with this stored process. However, if a stored process was created using SAS® Management Console, this problem does not occur.

When you encounter this problem after running PROC STP code, the "input parameters" section of the log file does not contain the input parameters that you defined in the stored process. In addition, you are not able to access these parameters in your stored process code.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Using SAS Management Console, select the Properties for the stored process.
  2. Click the Parameters tab in the Properties window.
  3. On the first line in the Displayed Text column, select General. Then, click Edit.
  4. In the Edit Group window, change the Displayed text value from General to Parameters.
  5. Click OK to save the change.

PROC STP should be able to access the parameter values after you make this change.

Note: If a stored process was originally created using SAS Management Console and parameter values are added later using SAS Enterprise Guide, then PROC STP will be able to access the input parameters.
