Problem Note 58187: The "Track e-mail opens" check box does not work correctly on the HTML Link Tracking page of E-mail Broadcasts in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio
The Track e-mail opens check box does not work correctly on the HTML Link Tracking page of E-mail Broadcasts in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio.
The Track e-mail opens check box indicates whether the broadcast that is being created sends a response back to the SAS® Digital Marketing response table when the email is opened. Selecting this check box adds a line of HTML that includes a crumblet. If a broadcast is created but the Track e-mail opens check box is not selected, the HTML is correctly created and a crumblet is not included. However, if you open the broadcast in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio, the check box appears to be selected. This behavior is a display issue only. A crumblet is not included in the HTML.
A second problem is also apparent. As mentioned earlier, a crumblet is correctly inserted in the HTML when you create a new broadcast in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio and you select the Track e-mail opens check box. If you then edit the broadcast, clear the Track e-mail opens check box, and save the broadcast, the crumblet should be removed. However, it is not removed, and the openings of broadcast email are tracked incorrectly.
