Usage Note 58787: Specifying an email alert threshold for the SAS® Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool
The Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool generates email alert messages for, by default, both errors and warnings. You can, however, change this so that email alerts are sent for errors only. If you think that changing the email alert threshold for the Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool is appropriate for your environment, use the instructions below. Note that the method is different for SAS® 9.4 M2 versus SAS® 9.4 M3 and later.
For SAS 9.4 M3 and Later
Beginning with SAS 9.4 M3, if you want the Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool to send email alerts for errors only, you configure the tool to do so by modifying one of its properties. For these instructions, see the "Specifying the Alert Email Threshold" section of the
SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide.
For SAS 9.4 M2
For SAS 9.4 M2, you must access a hot fix, as explained below.
- Click the Hot Fix tab in this SAS Note and download the hot fix. Be sure to read the documentation provided for the hot fix, which includes both installation and post-installation instructions that must be completed before you perform these manual steps to specify an email alert threshold.
- After you have downloaded the hot fix, log on to SAS® Management Console using an unrestricted account (for example, sasadm@saspw).
- On the Plug-ins tab, expand the Application Management folder, Configuration Manager, and SAS Application Infrastructure.
- Right-click SAS Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool 9.4 and select Properties.
- When the Deployment Backup and Recovery Tool Properties dialog box appears, click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Add button. The Define New Property dialog box then appears.
- Define a new property named svrbakupevm.email.notification.level and enter FAIL in the Property Value field.
- Click OK and OK, and log off from SAS Management Console.
