Installation Note 58052: The error "Error in Javac compilation for JSP" might occur when you attempt to access the SAS® Federation Server 4.1 Manager
The following error might occur if you attempt to access the SAS Federation 4.1 Manager with Java 1.8:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: PWC6033: Error in Javac compilation for JSP
PWC6197: An error occurred at line: 173 in the jsp file: /index.jsp
PWC6199: Generated servlet error:
The type java.lan.CharSequence cannot be resolved. It is indirectly reference from required .class files
The SAS Federation Server Manager requires Java 1.7 to be installed on the host before running the SAS® deployment. Not having Java 1.7 installed causes the SAS Federation Server Manager installation to fail or to fail with the error shown above.
To solve this problem, check the Java version on which SAS Federation Server Manager is installed. If SAS Federation Server is installed with a different release of Java than the required one, you must remove the configuration, install and configure Java 1.7, and then reconfigure the SAS software.
To determine the Java version that you have installed in UNIX operating environments: Check the java_path= configuration option that is in the fsmanager.cfg configuration file for the current Java location. The fsmanager.cfg configuration file is located in the etc directory of SAS Federation Server Manager, in a path similar to the following example:
SASHOME/SASFederationServerManager/release-number/etc
To determine the Java version that you have installed in Microsoft Windows operating environments: Check the environment variables that are set by the operating system.
