Usage Note 57745: A "Failed to request data" or "Requested object could not be found" error occurs when you view a Details page in SAS® Anti-Money Laundering
When you view the details of an entity, SAS Anti-Money Laundering might send an HTTP request to retrieve data to be displayed on the screen. For example, the system sends an HTTP request to retrieve customer information for the Customer Details page. The URL for the HTTP request contains an entity number from your source system.
The same sequence of events could occur when you view the details of a transaction. SAS Anti-Money Laundering sends an HTTP request to retrieve data to be displayed on the screen. For example, the system sends an HTTP request to retrieve transaction information for the Transaction Details page. The URL for the HTTP request contains a transaction number from your source system.
When the entity or transaction number contains reserved characters as defined in the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI): Generic Syntax specification—RFC 3986—errors similar to the following might occur:
Failed to request data from http://url-for-entity
or
Requested object could not be found in the system
When the problem occurs, the SAS Anti-Money Laundering log file might contain the following error:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal character in path at java.net.URI.create(URI.java:859)
To work around this issue, modify the entity or transaction numbers during the ETL process to exclude the reserved characters.
