Usage Note 57705: In SAS® 9.4M3, running PROC SYNCSORT (also called PROC MFX) fails with the error "WER224A PT007941, STEP1 ,SAS - w H NOT DEFINED"
In SAS 9.4M3 and above, when you run the host sort utility PROC SYNCSORT (also called PROC MFX), you might see the following messages in your output:
IEC131I 1,PT007941,SAS,RDJFCB ISSUED FOR DCB WITH A BLANK DDNAME
WER224A PT007941,STEP1 ,SAS - w H NOT DEFINED
NOTE: WER750I End PROC MFX. RETRY successful. R2.4A Batch 0527 DIAG=404C0220022000
This is not a SAS problem. To address this problem, contact Syncsort. At the time of writing this SAS Note, the fix from Syncsort was identified as being EW73310.
