Problem Note 57616: The errors "Library MAPSGFK does not exist" or "Unable to locate the MAPS library" might occur in SAS® 9.4 (TS1M3)

Starting with SAS 9.4 (TS1M3), SAS/GRAPH® map data sets are installed separately from the SAS/GRAPH product. If SAS/GRAPH is installed without the map data sets, then SAS code that accesses these map data sets might produce one or more of the following errors:
ERROR: Library MAPSGFK does not exist
ERROR: Library MAPSSAS does not exist
ERROR: Library MAPS does not exit
ERROR: Unable to locate the MAPS library
To install the map data sets, take these steps:
- Close all SAS applications and all other applications. Log on to your machine with a user name that has administrator rights.
- Start the SAS installation by locating the original SAS® Software Depot folder. Right-click the setup.exe file, and select Run as administrator.
- Select Install SAS software. Click Next.
- Select Install SAS Foundation and Related Software. Click Next.
- On the Select Products to Install page, uncheck all products. Then select only SAS Foundation. Click Next.
- On the Select SAS Foundation Products page, check these three items:
- GfK GeoMarketing CITIES Maps for SAS/GRAPH
- GfK GeoMarketing WORLD Maps for SAS/GRAPH
- SAS/GRAPH Obsolete Maps Data
- Complete the installation.
After the installation completes, the SAS/GRAPH Obsolete Maps Data sets are, by default, in C:\Program Files\SASHOME\SASFoundation\9.4\Maps\.
The GfK GeoMarketing data sets are, by default, in C:\Program files\SASHOME\SASFoundation\9.4\Mapsgfk\.
Note: The Obsolete Maps data sets are the traditional SAS/GRAPH map data sets. The GfK GeoMarketing map data sets are described in SAS/GRAPH® 9.4: Mapping Reference.

Starting with SAS 9.4 (TS1M3), SAS/GRAPH® data sets are not installed by default. They can be installed separately to enable the MAPS, MAPSSAS, and MAPSGFK librefs. If data sets are not installed, “Library MAPSSAS does not exist” and “Library MAPS does not exist” can also occur.
