Problem Note 57596: SAS® Studio might become inoperable under heavy usage due to a Jackson third-party bug

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Under a heavy load of users, SAS Studio might encounter a bug in the Jackson third-party JSON-parsing library. This causes SAS Studio to become inoperable until it is restarted.

Error messages like the following might appear in the mid-tier server log when this occurs:

2015-11-12 21:57:02,110 [tomcat-http--470] ERROR [mli1120] org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/SASStudio].[jsp] - Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException at java.lang.System.arraycopy(Native Method) at org.codehaus.jackson.impl.WriterBasedGenerator.writeRaw(WriterBasedGenerator.java:577) at org.codehaus.jackson.util.DefaultPrettyPrinter$Lf2SpacesIndenter.writeIndentation(DefaultPrettyPrinter.java:279) at org.codehaus.jackson.util.DefaultPrettyPrinter.writeEndObject(DefaultPrettyPrinter.java:146) at org.codehaus.jackson.impl.WriterBasedGenerator.writeEndObject(WriterBasedGenerator.java:293) at org.codehaus.jackson.impl.WriterBasedGenerator.close(WriterBasedGenerator.java:928) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectWriter._configAndWriteValue(ObjectWriter.java:468) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectWriter.writeValueAsString(ObjectWriter.java:393) at com.sas.ep.sascoder.utilities.JspUtilities.writeJavascriptDojoConfig(JspUtilities.java:568)
