Problem Note 57359: SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC and SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle crash if you are using the Oracle version 12 client with LDAP service
If you are using the 32-bit Oracle version 12 ODBC driver or the Oracle client, issuing one the following LIBNAME statements might cause an error:
libname odbclib odbc dsn=ora12c uid=user-ID pwd=password;
libname oralib oracle path=ora12c uid=user-ID pwd=password;
The error might look like the following:
The SAS System has detected an abort condition. An Exception occurred during wthtrm(). Please Contact Technical Support.
To work around the issue, do one of the following:
- Use the 64-bit version of SAS® rather than the 32-bit version.
- Use the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle (MSORCL32).
- Use the TNSNAMES service instead of LDAP.
