Usage Note 57035: Enhancements are available for linked business objects in SAS® Model Risk Management

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Enhancements are available for linked business objects in SAS Model Risk Management. The enhancements enable you to limit displayed links by direction, to display pending links, and to copy links when you create a new business object from an existing linked object.

The enhancements include the following:

  • When you link business objects of the same type, you can specify that only links of one direction should be displayed in the link table. You can choose to display links in which the current object is the linking object or the linked object. An example would be a parent-child relationship, where the linking object is the parent, and the linked object is the child. In the field definition for the LinkedBusinessObjects component, specify the new side parameter to limit the display to one direction. When you do not specify this parameter, the system displays links for both directions.

  • A new Custom Page Builder function, GetLinkInstancesOfTypeWithSide, enables you to retrieve a collection of linked objects, where only links for a specific direction are included.

  • When you create or edit an object, you can create a linking relationship to another business object. The link is considered pending and is not saved until the original object is saved. Prior to this enhancement, the pending link is not shown when you view the linked object. A new enhancement enables you to view the pending links in a linked object. The pending links are displayed as read-only in the linked object before the linking object is saved.

  • A new Custom Page Builder function, CopyLinkInstancesFromPrevious, is added. The function enables you to copy link instances from an existing object to a new object when you create the new object through a linking relationship.

For more information about these enhancements, see the online documentation in the Administration menu in SAS Model Risk Management.
