Usage Note 57877: How to increase performance in ODBC connections when using the Oracle driver with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC
Performance might be very slow when you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC with Oracle drivers on UNIX systems. If you attempt to increase the speed using the READBUFF= and INSERTBUFF= parameters, the system might stop responding.
The problem occurs because of the Oracle ODBC driver for UNIX. Rather than increase the speed using READBUFF= and INSERTBUFF=, you can change the FetchBufferSize= parameter in the odbc.ini file entry for your Oracle connection. The default size is 64000 bytes. You can increase this number to 1024000.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC with Oracle drivers, performance might be very slow. You cannot use READBUFF= and INSERTBUFF= at higher values, so you need to change the FetchBufferSize= in the odbc.ini file.
