Usage Note 57789: Column length is restricted to 32 characters when you use a data item in SAS® Marketing Optimization
The column length of a data item is restricted to 32 characters when you use this data item in SAS Marketing Optimization. If you use more than 32 characters, the data item will be truncated.
For example, suppose you change the name of a data item in SAS® Information Map Studio so that it is longer than 32 characters and you add the custom attribute UseInOptimization:

If you then use this data item in a SAS Marketing Optimization campaign group (for example, as a customer attribute), the name is truncated to 32 characters:

Because of the truncation, the list of customer attributes might contain two identical names. To circumvent this behavior, you need to ensure that you do not have two data items that have the first 32 characters that are the same.
It is planned for this behavior to be documented in a later release of the SAS® Marketing Automation 6.x: Administrator's Guide.
