Usage Note 57676: Improving performance of SAS® software with the host sort utility DFSORT
Starting in SAS® 9.4M3 (TS1M3), you can set the undocumented SAS system option SORTBLKREC= to improve performance when sorting a SAS data set using the IBM host sort utility DFSORT. This option works only when you set SAS system option SORTBLKMODE= and you are using the IBM host sort utility DFSORT.
The optimal setting is SORTBLKREC=5000.
For more information about the SAS system option SORTBLKREC=, see SAS Note 58629, "The Load Module SASVZSR might fail with the error 'SYSTEM COMPLETION CODE=0C4' in SAS® 9.4 TS1M3."
