Usage Note 57650: A "CLI describe error" and other errors occur when you attempt to open ODBC data tables from SAS® in a UNIX operating environment

When opening ODBC tables in SAS® Enterprise Guide® and other applications, you might receive the following error:
The open data operation failed. The following error occurred.
[Error] CLI describe error: [

The problem occurs when the unixODBC driver manager is used and the version of the driver manager is older than 2.3.2.
To check the version of the ODBC driver manager, use the ./odbcinst -j command where the unixODBC driver manager is installed.
Note: The version 2.3.0 driver manager shows the tables, but you cannot open the tables.
