Usage Note 57182: The NOCELLMERGE option prevents the merging of cells in PROC TABULATE output in the ODS destinations
The NOCELLMERGE option was introduced as a TABLE statement option in PROC TABULATE in SAS® 9.3. This option prevents the merging of cells in the ODS destinations. Without this option, the table cells are merged with the variable header and the first variable value in the row dimension.
The following sample code illustrates this option for the ODS destination for Excel:
ods _all_ close;
ods excel file='test.xlsx';
proc tabulate data=sashelp.class;
class sex;
table sex, n / nocellmerge;
run;
ods _all_ close;
ods listing;
Click the Results tab to see an example of output with and without the NOCELLMERGE option.
The NOCELLMERGE option is ignored if the ROW=FLOAT option is also used. The expectation is that row headings are being suppressed, so single unmerged data rows are already being produced.
