When migrating to SAS Business Rules Manager 3.1, you might encounter the following error:

The problem occurs when you migrate first from 2.1 to 2.2, and then to 3.1. The problem does not occur if you migrate directly from 2.1 to 3.1. The problem does not occur if you migrate directly from 2.2 to 3.1 when 2.2 was not a migration.

The postgres-migration.sh script indicates that the script should be run from the middle-tier machine. This script requires that the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform is installed on the middle-tier. Executing the script on a machine that does not have the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform gives the error.

Two workarounds are available. Follow the steps for either one.

• 1. Copy contents of the SASHome\SASDecisionManagerCommonMidRierforDecisionManager\3.1\Config directory to the server machine. The destination directory does not matter.
  2. Under Deployment/Migration in the destination directory on the server, open the applicable postgres-migration.* script.
  3. Update the line that defines where the DCM scripts put the full path to the root of the file system. Example: DCM_DATA_DIR=%SASHOME%\SASDecisionManagerCommonMidTierforDecisionManager\3.1
  4. The postgres-migration.* script can be executed from the server tier.
  
  
• 1. In the middle-tier, install third-party PostgreSQL 9.4.4 from www.postgresql.org/download.
  2. Change the postgres-migration.* script to point the WIP_DATA_DIR= option to the PostgreSQL home directory. Example: WIP_DATA_DIR=C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\9.4\bin
