Problem Note 56976: When you attempt to subset an SQL view, you might get incorrect results

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Incorrect results might occur when you are trying to subset an SQL view using a DATA step. This issue can occur when all of the following are true:

  • The SQL view includes the DISTINCT operator.
  • The SQL view renames a column.
  • The DATA step sets the view and tries to subset the SQL view based on the renamed column with either a WHERE= DATA set option or a WHERE statement.

To work around this issue, use the SQL procedure rather than the DATA step to subset the view.
