When you are using SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to Aster and you use bulk unloading on an Aster table, SAS might return this error:

ERROR: Bulk loader error code -1: Invalid data format in BULKUNLOAD stream.
Verify that the data does not contain the delimiter character.

The problem occurs when the Aster table contains more than 74 columns.

To work around this issue, use BL_USE_PIPE=YES, as shown here:

proc sql;
   create table datastep2 as select * from myast.datastep
   (
        bulkunload=yes
        bl_host='aster_server'
        bl_use_pipe=yes
        bl_delimiter=CONTROL
        bl_quote=CONTROL1
        bl_escape=CONTROL2
    );
   quit;
