Problem Note 56374: The options to prevent duplicate emails and to identify preview messages fail after the SAS® Digital Marketing web applications are rebuilt
SAS Digital Marketing Studio provides options to prevent duplicate emails (Prevent duplicate e-mails per broadcast) and to identify preview messages (Identify preview messages in the subject line). From SAS Digital Marketing Studio, these options are available by selecting Tools ► Server Configuration ► Broadcast Definition ► E-mail Options.
When you rebuild web applications in SAS® Deployment Manager for SAS Digital Marketing Web Studio and Web Reporting Infrastructure, corruption occurs in the SAS Digital Marketing config.xml file where these options are recorded. With the corruption, the formatting of the file is lost. Then, when you restart the SAS Digital Marketing server, these options are no longer active. As a result, duplicate emails per broadcast are sent and preview messages are unidentified.
You rebuild this web application as part of a SAS Digital Marketing hot-fix application and following other configuration updates.
To work around the problem, after you rebuild and redeploy the SAS Digital Marketing Web Studio and the Web Reporting Infrastructure application, restart the SAS Digital Marketing server. Then, in SAS Digital Marketing Studio, reselect the options and click OK.
Reselecting the options and clicking OK reformats the config.xml file so that the option selections are retained.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
