Problem Note 56918: When you create a new column in SAS® Data Integration Studio, the Expression Builder window fails to open, and a null pointer exception error occurs
When you perform the steps to create a new column on the Mappings tab of a transformation, the Expression Builder window fails to open, and a null pointer exception error is written to the log. This problem occurs when a column has not been mapped and the Expression field is empty.
To work around this issue, you should either add a mapping to the column or enter some text into the Expression field before you invoke the Expression Builder. Then, the Expression Builder should open as expected.
