Problem Note 56252: Clicking a tracked link with a variable fails when you manually add the URL to the HTML source code of a SAS® Digital Marketing broadcast
In a SAS Digital Marketing broadcast, a tracked link might not resolve properly when an email recipient clicks the link. This problem occurs when you manually add a URL for a tracked link to the HTML source code and that tracked link contains a variable.
In SAS® Digital Marketing Studio, you can use Tools ► Insert Tracked Link to insert a tracked link with a variable. Here is an example:
http://www.sas.com/{{COUNTRY}}
Note: COUNTRY must be a tracked variable in the broadcast.
However, if you include the URL that is generated by SAS Digital Marketing into the HTML source code directly, the link fails to resolve correctly. When the email recipient clicks the generated link, the web page fails to be displayed. For text (non-HTML) content, the same link works correctly.
