Problem Note 56186: The object spawner might fail when you use load balancing with SAS® Cost and Profitability Management 8.1
A load-balanced object spawner might fail when you use it with SAS Cost and Profitability Management 8.1.
This problem occurs when an uninitialized variable in the load-balancing algorithm causes the algorithm to fail to return the expected status. This problem happens when there are no servers available at that moment to be used. The uninitialized memory is returned instead. This memory is then dereferenced by the load-balancing processor, which leads to the failure.
The object spawner continues to run after the first instance of the failure. However, the threads that fail eventually accumulate and, ultimately, nothing is available. That is, the object spawner is unresponsive. The only workaround in this scenario is to restart the object spawner.
