Problem Note 55994: Using the PROC HADOOP HDFS COPYTOLOCAL command with the KEEPCRC option might cause a null pointer exception error to be written to the SAS® log
A null pointer exception error might occur in the SAS log when you are using the PROC HADOOP HDFS COPYTOLOCAL command with the KEEPCRC option. The table referenced in the OUT= option and the CRC file are created in the directory specified, but both are empty. You might see the following:
filename cfg "<...>\path to\merged-site.xml" ;
proc hadoop cfg=cfg username='xxxx' password='yyyy' verbose ;
hdfs copytolocal='/test/data/sample.csv'
out='c:\temp\sample.csv' keepcrc ;
run;
Removing the KEEPCRC option prevents the null pointer exception error.
A fix is planned for a later SAS software release.
