Usage Note 55648: The SAS® VIEWTABLE editor closes very slowly when you view large ODBC tables in UNIX operating environments
In UNIX operating environments, the VIEWTABLE editor can close very slowly (taking minutes) when you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC to connect to and view large tables. This problem is likely to occur when you use very large tables that contain millions of rows or more.
The problem occurs because of a vendor issue in the Progress DataDirect driver. To resolve the problem, add the following driver option to your odbc.ini file.
CancelOnStatementClose=1
