Problem Note 55362: Job Execution Service configuration errors are displayed when you try to run a diagram
When you run diagrams in a SAS® Enterprise Miner™ client, the following error might be displayed:
JES job manager has not been properly configured.
To verify whether Job Execution Service is configured properly, you can check the Web Infrastructure Platform Services or review the server.log file.
Check the Web Infrastructure Platform Services
- Log on to SAS® Management Console using the
sasadm@saspw account.
- Select Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► SAS
Application Infrastructure ► Web Infrastructure Platform Services 9.4 .
If Job Execution Service is not displayed under Web Infrastructure Platform Services,
then Job Execution Service is not configured.
Review the server.log File
- Navigate to SASConfig/Lev#/Web/WebAppServer/SASServer1_1/logs/.
- Review the server.log file from the start-up of the SASServer1_1 service.
Look for messages similar to the following:
JES was not configured successfully.
Did not find "JobExecutionService" deployedComponent with "JobExecutionService Platform" classIdentifier.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
If you migrated metadata from SAS® 9.3 to SAS® 9.4, the hot fix helps load the Job Execution Service in SAS® Metadata Server, as per the scenario above. You need to perform manual steps for unconfiguring and configuring Job Execution Service.
To configure Job Execution Service, you need to reconfigure Web Infrastructure Platform.
- Unconfigure Web Infrastructure Platform. There are dependencies between Web
Infrastructure Platform and other middle-tier components.
- Apply the hot fix.
- Launch the SAS® Deployment Wizard and configure Web Infrastructure Platform (middle-tier).
- Configure Job Execution Service.
If you have questions about reconfiguring SAS Web Infrastructure Platform or middle-tier components, contact SAS Technical Support.
