The Start Groups node in SAS^® Enterprise Miner™ might produce a run-time error that is similar to the following in the node log:

The problem occurs when both of these conditions are true.

• Your flow begins with a File Import node.
• The Start Groups node Mode property is set to Bagging or Boosting.

To work around the problem, do not use a File Import node at the beginning of the flow. Instead, use some other method to convert the import file to a SAS data set.

Examples

• Use SAS^® Enterprise Guide to import the file into a SAS data set. In SAS Enterprise Miner, create a data source for that data set. Use an Input Data node at the beginning of your flow.

• Use a SAS Code node in SAS Enterprise Miner to run your own PROC IMPORT code to convert the file to a SAS data set and to create a data source.
