Usage Note 55410: Borders are displayed around titles and footnotes in ODS HTML output that is viewed with Microsoft Outlook
Borders might be displayed around titles and footnotes when you use the ODS HTML destination to generate output with SAS® 9.4. This is most likely to occur when you generate HTML output that is displayed in the body of an e-mail using Microsoft Outlook.
The problem occurs because Microsoft Outlook does not handle the cascading style sheet information correctly. If you view the same file in a browser, the borders around the titles and footnotes are not displayed.
Use one of the circumventions below to prevent borders from appearing around the titles and footnotes.
- Use the ODS MSOffice2K destination to create the output. This works better with Microsoft Office applications than ODS HTML. For example:
filename output email to="kevin@gmail.com"
content_type="text/html"
subject="No borders";
ods msoffice2k file=output rs=none;
title "The output does not contain borders around the titles";
proc print data=sashelp.class;
run;
ods msoffice2k close;
- Modify the style to remove the border width. The example code below illustrates this.
proc template;
define style styles.test;
parent=styles.htmlblue;
class systitleandfootercontainer /
htmlstyle="border:none";
end;
run;
filename output email to="kevin@gmail.com"
content_type="text/html"
subject="No borders";
ods html file=output rs=none style=styles.test;
title "The output does not contain borders around the titles";
proc print data=sashelp.class;
run;
ods html close;
