Installation Note 54814: An authentication error is received when you configure SAS® Digital Marketing Web Studio and Web Reporting Infrastructure

The following authentication error might occur when you configure SAS Digital Marketing Web Studio and Web Reporting Infrastructure:
The account cannot be authenticated. Either the account does not exist or the password is invalid. Choosing to continue will result in further errors. Configuration script: /install/SASServer/SASHome/SASDigitalMarketingWebStudioandWebReportingInfrastruc ture/6.4/Config/bulkemailmid_config.xml For more information, see the log file located at /install/SASServer/config/Lev1/Logs/Configure/bulkemailmid_configure_2014-10-28- 18.14.02.log
This problem occurs when you select SAS® Digital Marketing: Mail Transport Agent Authentication during the configuration prompting for the middle-tier machine. If the middle-tier machine is separate from the server tier, the authentication cannot be validated. This behavior is incorrect. Validation is not required with an account on the middle tier or server tier. Rather, it should be associated with the Mail Transport Agent host.
To work around the problem, avoid selecting SAS® Digital Marketing: Mail Transport Agent Authentication during the configuration prompting for the middle-tier machine.
If you incorrectly select SAS® Digital Marketing: Mail Transport Agent Authentication during the configuration prompting and receive the error message above, stop the configuration and then re-start it. Then make sure that you do not select SAS® Digital Marketing: Mail Transport Agent Authentication again during the configuration prompting for the middle-tier machine.
To correct the problem, click the Hot Fix tab and apply the hot fix before you configure SAS Digital Marketing Web Studio and Web Reporting Infrastructure.
If you downloaded your SAS® 9.4 Software Depot before February, 2015: To avoid the problem described above, retrieve Hot Fix package R07002 or later and add it to your depot before you install and configure SAS Digital Marketing 6.3.
