Problem Note 54670: The error "relation temp_table_name does not exist" occurs when you query a newly created Netezza temporary table
After you use the SQL pass-through facility to create a Netezza temporary table, the following error might occur when you try to query this new temporary table:
proc sql;
connect to netezza(server=server-name user=user-ID pwd=password database=database);
execute(create temporary table foobar as select * from nzdb.nztable) by netezza;
create table work.temptest as
select * from connection to netezza (select * from foobar);
quit;
ERROR: CLI prepare error: ERROR: relation does not exist nzdb.foobar
NOTE: PROC SQL set option NOEXEC and will continue to check the syntax of statements.
Adding CONNECTION=GLOBAL to the Netezza connection string enables you to query the newly created Netezza temporary table. Here is an example:
proc sql;
connect to netezza(server=nzserver user=nzuser pwd=nzpwd database=nzdb connection=global);
execute(create temporary table foobar as select * from nzdb.nztable) by netezza;
create table work.temptest as
select * from connection to netezza (select * from foobar);
quit;
