Problem Note 54612: The SAS® Revenue Optimization job Load_STG2DM_Promotion_fact runs slowly
The SAS Revenue Optimization Load_STG2DM_Promotion_fact job can load promotion data for vehicle categories Point-of-Sale Absolute Price, Point-of-Sale Percent Discount, and Point-of-Sale Absolute Discount. These three vehicle categories have the VEHICLE_CATEGORY_NM values of "POSSingle", "POSPercentOFF", and "POSAbsoluteOff" respectively. There is processing overhead for these three vehicle categories even when the input STG_PROMOTION table does not contain any records where the PRICE_VEHICLE_CTGRY_CD is one of these POS values. This processing overhead might increase the total run time of the Load_STG2DM_Promotion_fact job.
Implementations that never load point-of-sale records into the PROMOTION_FACT table cannot avoid this processing overhead.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix, a new JOB_PARAM, etlp_pos_enable enables you to control whether Point of Sale data is loaded. If your implementation never loads point-of-sale promotion data, you can improve processing time by setting the JOB_PARAM etlp_pos_enable value to 0. See the SAS® Revenue Optimization documentation for details.
