Problem Note 54178: Universal override for the default column length for SAS® Information Maps opened in SAS® Enterprise Guide® and the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office

When you open an information map in SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office, the default value for the EXPCOLUMNLEN option is 32.

Beginning in SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1 and SAS Add-In 5.1 for Microsoft Office, you can override this default with a configuration option. The latest hot fixes must be applied.
For the SAS add-in, you create a text file named SAS.OfficeAddIn.dll.config and place it in the SAS add-in installation directory. The file should contain the following content, where the value is your preferred length.
For SAS Enterprise Guide, you add the InfoMapExpressionColumnLength option to the appSettings section of the seguide.exe.config. This file is located in the SAS Enterprise Guide installation directory. Here is an example of the length set to 100.
