Problem Note 54851: EM_NOHOST(224): errors might occur when you connect to Teradata using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Teradata
When connecting to Teradata databases using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Teradata, you might receive the following error messages:
ERROR: Teradata connection: MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file or names database.
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
The error messages typically indicate that the machine name is not found in the Teradata hosts file on the SAS server. The problem also occurs when the Teradata user ID is being used for the first time or when an existing Teradata user ID has an expired password. Teradata passwords cannot be reset by SAS.
To resolve the problem, log on to the Teradata server using the Basic Teradata Query (BTEQ) utility from Teradata to test your connection. BTEQ prompts you to change your password when logging on to the system. The new password should be used in your LIBNAME statement or PROC SQL code to connect to Teradata.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to Teradata with a new user password, SAS® generates an "MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file" or names database" error. The problem might occur because of a new (first use) user password setting in the user's account in Teradata.
