Usage Note 54401: How to configure SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Impala to use the Cloudera ODBC driver on an AIX platform
When SAS® 9.4 TS1M2 was released, the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Impala on AIX was linked to the DataDirect ODBC Driver Manager. Cloudera did not offer an ODBC driver for AIX at that time, but support for AIX was added in Cloudera’s 2.5.17 release of the Impala ODBC driver.
To use the Cloudera 2.5.17 driver with SAS/ACCESS Interface to Impala, enter the following commands in the directory that contains the ODBC driver manager library. Here are some examples for the unixODBC driver manager:
unix_prompt> mv libodbc.a libodbc.a.bak
unix_prompt> cp libodbc.so.2 odbc.so
unix_prompt> ar -X64 -r libodbc.a odbc.so
This procedure creates the libodbc.a archive with the internal shared object name that SAS/ACCESS Interface to Impala expects.
In a future release, SAS/ACCESS Interface to Impala on AIX will be linked against the unixODBC driver manager by default. At that time, it should not be necessary to use the procedure in order to use the Cloudera ODBC driver.
